Miło nam poinformować, że gościem specjalnym podczas V edycji Festiwalu Szachy w Ustroniu łączą pokolenia będzie Mistrz Świata FIDE w latach 2002-2004: GM GM Ruslan Ponomariov. 
Rusłan jest nadal aktywnym zawodnikiem i należy do szerokiej czołówki światowej. Tytuł Arcymistrza zdobył mając zaledwie 14 lat i 17 dni (ostatnia norma na tytuł) 
Mistrzem Świata FIDE został, wygrywając turniej rozegrany systemem pucharowym na przełomie 2001/2002, w finale pokonując swojego rodaka Wasyla Iwańczuka.

We are pleased to announce that the special guest for the 5th edition of the “Chess in Ustroń Connects Generations” Festival will be the FIDE World Champion from 2002-2004: GM Ruslan Ponomariov.
Ruslan is still an active player and belongs to the broad elite of the world. He earned the Grandmaster title at the age of just 14 years and 17 days (last norm for the title). He became the FIDE World Champion by winning the knockout tournament held at the turn of 2001/2002, defeating his compatriot Vasyl Ivanchuk in the final.
We plan for our special guest to visit the Festival groups and participate in the tournament – details of his visit will be announced shortly.
